(Troy, OH) The Miami Valley Silverbacks professional indoor football team has signed All-American Brenton Brady to their 2007 roster.

Brady, a Rochester, NY native, is expected to play Linebacker for the Silverbacks as well as step in as a Running Back in short yardage situations.

Brady (6'1", 252 lbs.), a two-time Team Captain at Alfred University, was named an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-American in 2005 and received Honorable Mention honors in 2004. Brady finished the 2005 season with a team-high 98 tackles (61 solo), 12.5 tackles for a loss, 6 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and an interception.

The 2005 season marked the third straight season that Brady, who converted from tailback to linebacker after his freshman season, notched at least 90 tackles.

"Brenton has tremendous speed and athletic ability," stated Silverbacks Head Coach and General Manager Matthew King. "He is a natural linebacker that flies around the field. He is a head-hunter that closes very quickly. We expect him to make a great impact for us this season."

Brady hopes to carry is collegiate success over to the Silverbacks. "I am very excited to be with the Silverbacks. It's exciting to be with such a great organization; I just want to play to my full potential," stated Brady. "I hope that I can make an impact and help the team have a successful season."

The Football Gazette named him a First Team East Region All-Star and Linebacker of the Year in 2005. He was also named an Empire 8 All Star for three consecutive years (2003-2005). The Empire 8 Conference also named Brady the Empire 8 Player of the Year in 2004. For three consecutive years Brady was also named a First Team ECAC Northwest Region All Star (2003-2005) and was the ECAC Northwest Region Player of the Year in 2004.

Brady played in the 2005 Aztec Bowl in Toluca, Mexico, in which he had four tackles (two solo, one tackle for loss). His U.S. team won 53-15.
