The Atlanta Silverbacks will host Japan Relief Night on Saturday, April 16, when the team hosts FC Edmonton at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. The Silverbacks will donate 50 percent of all advance ticket sales for that game to the ongoing relief efforts in Japan.

In addition to the financial donation to Japan relief efforts, the Silverbacks have planned a celebration of Japanese culture, scheduled to include a pre-game singing of the Japanese national anthem, a visit from the Japanese Consul General, and a half-time performance from Atlanta Okinawa Kenjin Kai.

Defender KOHEI MATSUSHITA, a native of Ishikawa, Japan, arrived safely in Atlanta last week. The Silverbacks' donation will be made in his name to the Japan relief efforts of the UNICEF U.S. Fund.

"It's very touching to know that the Silverbacks are so supportive of the relief efforts in Japan," Matsushita said. "Atlanta is a long way from the disaster area, but they're showing a lot of care helping with the relief, so I'm very appreciative."

In order to be included in the Silverbacks donation, fans must purchase their tickets on or before April 15. Tickets can be purchased at atlantasilverbacks.com or by calling (404) 969-4900.
