Dayton Silverbacks News Release

The Miami Valley Silverbacks will welcome a National champ to Hobart Arena Friday night.

The Silverbacks will be honoring Jeff Jordan's Graham wrestling team for winning their eighth straight Ohio State Division II championship and for capturing their first National title.

Graham went undefeated on the season and won the state team title by 140.5 points. David Taylor, Zach Neibert, Tucker Armstrong and Ben Jordan all won individual titles as the Falcons placed 12 wrestlers on the podium.

"The Graham wrestling program is an excellent example of what hard work, commitment and dedication can produce," Silverbacks president Matthew King said. "For them to be crowned as the best team in the nation is an accomplishment that we felt was worth honoring."

The Silverbacks will close out the home portion of their schedule Friday night when they host the Kalamazoo XPlosion in a key game at Rapid Fire Field at Hobart Arena.

The Silverbacks are currently tied with Rock River and Fort Wayne for the final playoff spot in the Great Lakes Conference. Kalamazoo is on pace to be the top seed in the Conference with a 7-1 mark.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. kickoff are still available at the Hobart Arena box office, or online at www.hobartarena.com.
