Atlanta Silverbacks News Release

In addition to being treated to great soccer in a great facility, the first 250 fans to enter the gates at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium for the Atlanta Silverbacks' match on Saturday night will receive a limited-edition Silverbacks team scarf. While the hot Atlanta heat obviously does not call for the scarves to be used for practical purposes, fans can use the great collector's items to cheer on the Silverbacks in international soccer style. The 'Backs will kick off against the Seattle Sounders at 7:55 pm on Saturday night (6.9.07).

The Silverbacks (3-4-2) are coming off their second home loss and will be eager to get another win at home. Atlanta is currently ranked ninth in the USL First Division. The Sounders (3-4-3) will take on the Charleston Battery tonight before traveling to Atlanta for Saturday's game. Seattle is currently ranked seventh in the USL First Division.

Be sure to get to the game early to get your Silverbacks team scarf! For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.atlantasilverbacks.com or call 1-866-GO-BACKS.

SILVERBACKS WOMEN PLAY FOR FIRST PLACE ON FRIDAY

The Atlanta Silverbacks Women (3-1-0) host the Richmond Kickers Destiny (3-0-0) tomorrow night (6.8.07) at 7:55 pm at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. The match will have many more implications than just another regular season game. To begin with, Atlanta will be looking for some serious revenge against Richmond. The Silverbacks lost to the Destiny twice last year in two close matches that were decided by one goal. During the 2006 season, Atlanta lost to Richmond 2-1 on the road and 1-0 at home. In addition to the revenge aspect, both teams will be fighting for first place. The Silverbacks and the Destiny each have nine points - putting them tied for first place in the W-League's Atlantic Division. The winning team in tomorrow night's match will rise to the head of the pack and take sole claim over first place.

The Silverbacks stumped the Charlotte Lady Eagles 2-0 last weekend in Atlanta. Julie Augustyniak-Tuff earned a spot on the W-League Team of the Week for her defensive efforts during the shutout. The Silverbacks Women and the Kickers Destiny kick off at 7:55 pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, visitwww.atlantasilverbacks.com or call 1-866-GO-BACKS.

PDL HEADS TO NORTH CAROLINA FOR TWO IMPORTANT MATCHES

The top half of the PDL's Southeast Division consists of four teams separated by just two points: Carolina Dynamo - 13, Central Florida Kraze - 12, Cary RailHawks U23's - 11, and Atlanta Silverbacks U23's - 11. The Silverbacks U23's (3-1-2) will play two of those teams this weekend in North Carolina. On Friday night, the U23's will play in Cary against the RailHawks U23's. The two teams have already met twice this season with Atlanta winning 2-1 in Georgia and Cary winning 4-0 in North Carolina. The Silverbacks U23's will then head to Greensboro to take on the Carolina Dynamo just 24 hours later on Saturday night.

The Silverbacks U23's beat the Carolina Dynamo 3-1 last Friday night at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium. Jonathon Leathers earned a spot on the PDL Team of the Week for his defensive efforts during the Silverbacks' win.
