Dayton Silverbacks News Release

The Miami Valley Silverbabes will be holding their first tryout for anyone 18 and older interested in being a part of the 2008 squad.

Tryouts will be held on Dec. 8 at the Dayton Academy in Huber Hts. from noon until 4 p.m. and will consist of several categories, including dance skills, a questionnaire and an interview. New Silverbabe choreographer/advisor Elizabeth Morgan asks that all participants be at least 18 years old, have gymnastics, dance or cheer skills, a valid driver's license and a flexible schedule.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and ends at 11:45 a.m. Ladies interested in trying out can pre-register for $20 (cash, check or credit card) until Dec. 7 either online at www.silverbacksfootball.com, by phone at (937) 718-7044 or in person at Hobart Arena located at 255 Adams St. in Troy. Registration on the day of tryouts will be $25 and will be payable by cash or money order only.

The tryout will consist of learning a dance routine taught by Morgan, answering a short questionnaire and a swim suit interview period. All ladies interested in trying out should also bring a recent color head shot and full body shot with them for identification purposes by the judges. The tryouts will contain a preliminary and final round. Applicants must introduce themselves and be prepared for a freestyle dance round. A short 20 second clip of random music will be played and participants will need to freestyle to the song. The Silverbabes are looking for ladies who can dance on beat with any type of music played similar to game days.

Tryouts are closed to the public. Ladies trying out for the squad should wear a crop top/sports bra (stomach must show) and dance briefs or lycra shorts.

The Silverbabes are responsible for performing at all home games and doing various promotional appearances throughout the season as well as attending practices.
