The RGV Silverados released the signing today of their Second Round Draft Selection from the recent CBA Draft that was held three weeks ago.

The Silverados inked former Texas A & M University - Corpus Christi forward Cedric Smith to a contract to play this season for the Silverados in their inaugural season in the CBA. Cedric was the 12th overall player selected in this year's CBA Draft!

Smith starred for Texas A & M - Corpus Christi this past season as TAMU earned an NCAA Division I Tournament bid by winning the Southland Conference Championship.

Cedric played at TAMU for two seasons averaging 9.7ppg and 6.5rpg. The 6'9 Smith can play either forward position and his versatility is what attracted Silverados head coach Steve Tucker. "Cedric is a very athletic player and is very versatile! I see him as being a player that we can do a lot with. I just really like his athleticism! I believe he has a bright future as a professional player!"

Smith started his collegiate career at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX. He averaged 20.1ppg and 8.7rpg in his two season at TJC.

Smith is originally from Longview, TX. He starred for Longview High School for three seasons. He was a double/double man for his high school career averaging 21.0ppg and 11.6rpg.
