Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release
Jeff Daisley is a 7'2 -285 Center. The RGV Silverados announced that they have come to contractual terms with the big center to play for the first year franchise in the CBA this upcoming season.
Daisley has shown continued improvement since coming out of Mercyhurst College in 2006. He played last season for the Buffalo Silverbacks in the ABA and then this past Spring and Summer for the Mayas, Mexico team that participated in and won the WBA Championship. The Mayas played out of Dallas, TX in the WBA during the 2007 WBA Season.
Daisley averaged 10.6ppg and 8.2rpg for his college career at Mercyhurst. He came of the bench for the Mayas for the WBA Champion Mayas averaging 7.2ppg and 4.1rpg.
Silverados head coach Steve Tucker likes what he sees in Daisley! "Jeff is a big fella! I like the way he works and of course I like his size. He's a player that I'm really interested in seeing play in our upcoming Veterans Training Camp. I believe across the board you'll see bigger frontline players in the CBA this upcoming season. Daisley will fit right in with that being the case."
The Silverados will have 18 players reporting to the Valley next week to begin Training Camp. Rio Grande Valley will tip-off its inaugural season in the CBA at home against the Oklahoma Cavalry on Saturday night, November 17th at the new McAllen Convention Center.
