THIS WEEK'S GAMES:

Wednesday, September 1 at Los Angeles Sparks @ Staples Center 9:30 p.m. WB 35, KSJL 810 AM

This will be the fourth and final meeting between the Silver Stars and Sparks. The Sparks have won the first three games but the Silver Stars are looking to avoid the season series sweep with a win. San Antonio will be playing their first game since the Olympic Break and look to finish the season strong.

Thursday, September 2 at Sacramento Monarchs @ ARCO Arena 9:00 p.m. KSJL 810 AM

This game will be the first of a home-and-home series between the Silver Stars and Monarchs. In their last meeting the Silver Stars defeated Sacramento by nine, 72-63. The Silver Stars and Monarchs are deadlocked at 13-13 in the all-time season series and San Antonio looks to take the lead with a win in Sacramento. Two nights later these teams will square off again in San Antonio to close out the season series.

Saturday, July 31 vs. Sacramento Monarchs @ SBC Center 7:00 p.m. WB35, The Ticket 760 AM

Promotions/Giveaways: Express-News Value Night and Dad and Daughter Night, Fans can find a coupon in the San Antonio Express News to receive a game ticket, hot dog, soft drink, Cream Creations Ice Cream and a Silver Stars T-Shirt for $15 or they can visit any participating Pizza Hut to pick a Dad and Daughter ticket voucher good for two tickets for $10. Inside the Huddle resented by H-E-B, Shannon "Pee Wee Johnson is the featured guest. The Silver Stars will also be giving away mini-basketballs to the first 2,000 kids 14 and under.

BRINGING HOME THE GOLD

Shannon "Pee Wee" Johnson and Team USA are bringing home the gold after defeating Australia in the Gold Medal Game, 74-63. Johnson played a large part in Team USA's success in the medal rounds averaging 12.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in three games, including a 21- point performance in 21 minutes in the quarterfinals against Greece. Although she may be short in stature, she plays big and she showed why she was selected to represent her country in the Olympics.

The San Antonio Silver Stars will welcome home 2004 Olympians Shannon 'Pee Wee' Johnson and Sacramento Monarchs' Yolanda Griffith on September 4 when the Silver Stars take on the Monarchs at 7 p.m. inside the SBC Center. Both players will be honored for their efforts in bringing home the gold medal during a pre-game ceremony. Fans are asked to where red, white and blue to show their support for the U.S. Women's Olympic Team. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to sign a special "Congratulations Card" outside the main entrance of the SBC Center. The card will be given to Pee Wee during the pre-game ceremony.

Pee Wee's Olympic medal and uniform will also be on display for fans to take pictures with throughout the first half. At halftime winners of the Silver Stars Skills Challenge will be honored in an on-court presentation. Following the game, the Silver Stars will host a special "Inside the Huddle" presented by H-E-B featuring Johnson. Fans are invited to stay for the post game session to hear first hand about the 2004 Olympic Games.

Silver Stars in September

This season marks the first time in Silver Stars history that they will be playing a game in the month of September. The latest the Silver Stars had played a game prior to this season was August 24, both in 1997 and 2002.
