
Silver Stars Add Three Players To Training Camp

SAN ANTONIO, April 21, 2010 - The San Antonio Silver Stars today announced the signing of three players to training camp contracts: forward/center Diana Delva, guard/forward Brittany Jackson and forward Lacey Simpson to training camp contracts.
As a senior in 2009-10, Delva was named the America East Player of the Year after she led Hartford to a perfect 16-0 record in conference play en route to a 20-game win streak. She also earned First Team All-Conference honors, America East All-Defensive Team honors and was named the America East Player of the Week four times. Delva finished the 2009-10 season ranked second in the country in field goal percentage as she made 178-of-275 field goal attempts (64.7%); she recorded double-figure scoring marks in 26 games and also led the Hawks in scoring in 20 games.
The Stamford, Conn., native finished her collegiate career at Hartford ranked in several all-time categories: first in field goal percentage (.613); second in rebounding (930) and games played (132); third in scoring (1,403); fourth in field goals made (539) and free throws made (321); and fifth in rebounds per game (7.0). She also holds the single-season record in field goal percentage (64.7) and ranked second in blocks in a single season (64) and second in rebounds in a single season (259), all of which she tallied as a senior.
Jackson finished her collegiate career at Tennessee in 2005 as a member of the SEC All-Tournament team (2004-05) after recording the sixth-best single-season three-point field goal tally (54) in Lady Vol history. She also finished third all-time in career three-point field goals made (161) and second all-time in three-point field goal attempts (443). Jackson also recorded 35 double-figure scoring games in her four years at UT.
Simpson earned several conference honors during her collegiate career, including two-time Big Ten All-Defensive team accolades (2009, 2010) and two-time third team All-Big Ten recognition by the media (2009, 2010). The Illinois career steals leader grabbed 368 steals which also ranked her second all-time in the Big Ten; she recorded a single-season record with 113 as a senior.
In addition to setting a new school record in steals, the native of Zion, Ill., finished her Illinois career ranked second all-time in career blocks (163), third in assists (451), fourth in rebounds (400) and 17th in scoring (1166). Simpson is the only player in Illinois history with 100-plus assists in each of her four seasons as a member for the Fighting Illini.
