Old Orchard Beach News Release
The Dirt Dawgs went up to Nashua for the first time this season where they played at Holman Stadium against the Nashua Silver Knights Tuesday night. Joe Swindells started on the mound for the Dirt Dawgs and TJ Jann started for the Silver Knights. In the top of the first, John Lefeber scored for the Dirt Dawgs on a single by Shane Keddy. Unfortunately that would be the only run to cross the plate for the Dirt Dawgs as they fell 9-1 to the Silver Knights.
The Silver Knights answered the Dirt Dawgs run in the top of the first by scoring three runs of their own before the first was over. After a quick second inning, the Silver Knights scored another run in the bottom of the third. After 5 complete innings, Swindells was replaced on the mound by Erik Jacobsen who pitched a 1-2-3 inning. Jacobsen was followed by Joe Saia who pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh for the Dirt Dawgs. Jake Archey and William Derosier went 2-3 for the Dirt Dawgs, both with two singles and a walk.
Winning pitcher of the night is TJ Jann for the Sliver Knights, losing pitcher for the Dirt Dawgs is Joe Swindells. The Dirt Dawgs continue play June 27 at 6:35 at Doyle Field against the Brocton Rox.
