Nashua Silver Knights News Release
NASHUA, NH. - The Nashua Silver Knights will take on the Lowell Spinners (Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox) in an exhibition game on Friday, June 14 at 6 p.m. at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.
The Spinners are the Silver Knights sister team and are operated and owned by the same front office.
Admission to the game is free.
"Given our affiliation with the Spinners, we are thrilled the Red Sox have asked us to continue what is a great opportunity for the Silver Knights players," said Nashua President Tim Bawmann. "The is not only a wonderful opportunity for the Silver Knights players to showcase themselves in front of the Red Sox Baseball Operations staff but also a chance to play at LeLacheur Park."
The game will represent the first look at the 2013 Spinners, whose roster is in the final stages of construction following the conclusion of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. The Spinners kick-off their season on Wednesday, June 19th and this game serves as a tune-up before their season.
"In a perfect world, you will eventually have players who played for the Silver Knights in the exhibition finding their way to the Spinners' dugout as their careers progress," said Bawmann.
First pitch for the exhibition is scheduled for 6 p.m. and gates will open at 5 p.m. Seating is General Admission and the Spinner Concessions Stands will be open during the game. The game will not be for a set number of innings, though six-full were played in 2012.
