
Sidekicks Lose to Philadelphia in Overtime, 13-10

DALLAS - The Dallas Sidekicks fell 13-10 in overtime to the Philadelphia Kixx at Reunion Arena Friday evening.
Pat Morris scored from beyond the yellow line 12:12 into overtime. The power-play winner was set up when Armando Valdivia was called for pushing near midfield at 11:52 of overtime. That gave Philadelphia the man-advantage and a restart in their offensive end. The power play last 20 seconds as Goran Vasic fed Morris for the winner.
The Sidekicks (7-23) held a 10-2 lead when Tatu scored 56 seconds into the third quarter. Philadelphia (22-8) then rallied with 11 unanswered points. Goran Vasic started the run for Philadelphia with goals at 7:07 and 9:40 of the third quarter. Chris Handsor then scored a power play goal at 13:36 of the third. The Sidekicks managed to hold the 10-8 edge until Don D'Ambra found the net on a rebound at 12:47 of the fourth.
The Sidekicks had a man-advantage in overtime, but failed to capitalize. Edgar Bartolomeu was called for kicking at 8:15 of the extra session when he hit Tatu in the face.
The Sidekicks built the lead on first-quarter goals from Brandon Cavitt, Antonio Sutton, and Nick Stavrou. Patrick Shamu added a goal at 2:07 of the second and Tatu scored at 0:56 of the third. Kevin Sloan had the loan first-half goal for Philadelphia on a penalty kick at 4:10 of the opening period.
The Sidekicks host the Kansas City Comets Saturday March 1 at 7:05 p.m. and the Cleveland Force Tuesday March 4 at 7:05 p.m. for the make-up game from February 16.
