Sidekicks lose at Cleveland in overtime

CLEVELAND - The Dallas Sidekicks lose 10-8 to the Cleveland Force in overtime at the Cleveland State University Convocation Center Sunday.

Cleveland's Steve Butcher scored the game-winner at 8:19 into overtime.

The Dallas Sidekicks (7-22) tied the game at 8 to put the game into overtime at 14:06 in the fourth with a Sixth Attacker goal by Antonio Sutton.

The Cleveland Force (15-14) started the scoring early as Chris Stathopoulos scored from a Dallas turnover at 2:41 in the first. Dallas' Nick Stavrou evened the score to 2 at 8:24 in the first with an assist from Tatu. Giuliano Oliviero pulled Cleveland ahead once again at 10:45 in the first quarter. Antonio Sutton came back for the Sidekicks at 8:32 in the second. Kiley Couch's goal at 9:29 in the second allowed Cleveland to go into halftime ahead, 6-4.

Frank Filo tied the score again for the Sidekicks with a short-handed goal from Brad Flanagan at 6:46 in the third. Filo's goal was Dallas' sixth short-handed goal of the season to extend the franchise record. Giuliano Oliviero added another goal for Cleveland at 14:14 in the third to put them ahead 8-6.

Tatu's assist to Nick Stavrou at 8:24 in the first quarter gives him 1400 points with the Sidekicks. He is the second person in indoor history to reach the 1400 point mark with one team.

The Sidekicks return to Reunion Arena to play three games in five days. They host the Philadelphia Kixx Friday February 28 at 7:05 p.m., the Kansas City Comets Saturday March 1 at 7:05 p.m., and the Cleveland Force Tuesday March 4 at 7:05 p.m. for the make-up game.
