Published on February 20, 2010 under SPHL (SPHL) News Release

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Fayetteville's Rob Sich set a new SPHL record for goals in a season with a first period tally against Knoxville goaltender Dan Earles.

Sich's goal, scored in front of an estimated Military Night crowd of over 6,000, was his 47th of the season, breaking his own record of 46 set during the 2006-2007 season.

Chris Leveille and Jesse Biduke assisted on the record-breaking goal.

Sich needed just 44 games to break the record, after having set the previous mark in 51 games.
