
Shuster, González Promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett; Creasy, Winans Added

PENSACOLA, FL - The Atlanta Braves announced the following roster moves ahead of Tuesday's 6:35 pm CT series-opener at Pensacola. The Braves promoted LHP Jared Shuster and INF Yariel González to Triple-A on Tuesday while transferring RHP Allan Winans (why-nens), and RHP Jason Creasy to Mississippi's roster from the FCL Braves.
Shuster, 23, Atlanta's first-round selection (25th overall) in 2020 and No. 7 ,prospect earned a promotion to Triple-A Gwinnett after appearing in 17 games (16 starts), going 6-7 with a 2.78 ERA, 22 walks, and 106 strikeouts. The New Bedford, MA native, ranked among the Southern League leaders in ERA (2,87, 2nd), strikeouts (106, 2nd), opponent's batting average (.198, 2nd), WHIP (0.96, 2nd), and innings (90.2, 2nd).
González, 28, began the 2022 season with Gwinnett, and returns after playing in 66 games, batting .257 with 12 doubles, nine home runs, 31 RBI, and four stolen bases. Atlanta signed the Mayaguez, PR native on December 15, 2021. He was initially signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent on June 16, 2016.
Creasy, 30, returns to the M-Braves roster after appearing in 19 games for the M-Braves in 2019, going 1-0 with a 2.66 ERA and eight saves. Creasy appeared in 15 games for the FCL Braves this season, going 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA, nine walks, and 25 strikeouts, his first action since the 2019 season. In 2019, the Charlotte, NC native combined to go 4-1 with a 4.45 ERA, .260 BAA, 1.34 WHIP, and 11 saves in 49 games between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. He led the Atlanta minor league system in saves (11-for-14, 78.6%), games pitched (49), and games finished (30). The Pittsburgh Pirates originally selected Creasy in the eighth round of the 2011 draft out of Clayton High School (NC)
Winans, 23, began the 2022 season with Triple-A Gwinnett before being placed on the 7-day Injured List on April 21. Winans was 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA in three starts, with six walks and 11 strikeouts. In two games, one start for the FCL Braves, Winans gave up no runs in 5.0 innings with two walks and five strikeouts. The Bakersfield, CA native was making his Braves organization debut this season after being selected in the 2021 Rule 5 Draft from the New York Mets (3-7, 2.64 ERA, 1.90 BAA, 14 SV in 67G from 2018-19, 2021). In the first MLB Spring Training stint of his career, Winans appeared in two games for the Braves, going 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA (1 ER in 5.0 IP). He allowed just two hits and no walks while striking out six. The Mets originally drafted Winans in the 17th round in 2018 out of Campbell University (NC).
The M-Braves continue their road trip through Sunday in Pensacola but return to Trustmark Park for a six-game homestand, August 2-7, against the Biloxi Shuckers.
