
Shuckers Take Series-Finale with Smokies, 7-1

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies (46-41, 9-9) fell the Biloxi Shuckers (40-45, 6-12) 7-1 Sunday afternoon at Smokies Stadium. The Smokies finished the series winning four of six against the Shuckers and seven of 12 in their regular-season series.
LHP Jordan Wicks (L, 0-1) -- the Cubs' 2021 first-round draft pick -- made his Double-A debut on Sunday. He went four innings, allowed four hits, three runs and two walks while striking out three. Of the five pitchers Tennessee used in the finale, Jeremiah Estrada was the only one who did not surrender a run, as he pitched a scoreless eighth.
The Shuckers used seven pitchers but held the Smokies to three hits and one run. Catcher Cam Balego was responsible for the Smokies' only run with an RBI single in the third. Matt Mervis and Luis Vazquez had Tennessee's only other hits.
