BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Niko Hulsizer crushed a pair of three-run homers and the Biscuits (39-41/11-7) brought their bats to the yard in a 15-5 thumping of the Birmingham Barons (41-46/10-8) in Sunday afternoon's series finale at Regions Field, splitting the six-game set.

Former big leaguer Scott Blewett (4-4) started for the Barons, and right-hander allowed a one-out single in the top of the first to Greg Jones, who swiped second for the shortstop's 30th stolen base of the year. After Blewett balked, Osleivis Basabe's sac fly to right brought home Jones and made it 1-0 Biscuits early.

Evan McKendry started for the Biscuits for the first time since June 21 coming back from a back injury, and the right-hander worked a one-two-three bottom of the first, striking out Raudy Read to end the frame.

Blake Hunt singled with one out in the top of the second and then moved to second on another Blewett balk. Evan Edwards stroked an RBI-triple down the right field line in the next at-bat and doubled the Biscuits lead to 2-0, while McKendry worked another scoreless bottom of the second.

The Biscuits put up a four-spot against Blewett in the top of the fourth thanks to a Basabe RBI-single and a towering three-run homer to left by Niko Hulsizer to make to a 6-0 game. Jose Rodriguez added an RBI-triple in the bottom of the third against Alan Strong to make it 6-1. Strong still struck out two in the inning, his first appearance since May 12 after coming back from an elbow injury. Biscuits center fielder Garett Hiott left the game with an apparent leg injury on the triple.

Kaleb Roper relieved Blewett and pitched a clean top of the fourth, striking out a pair. Joe LaSorsa took over for Strong in the bottom of the fourth and served up a couple runs on a Yoelqui Cespedes RBI-double and a J.J. Muno RBI-single to make it a 6-3 contest.

The Biscuits would erupt for six runs in the top of the fifth against Roper courtesy of another three-run homer to left by Hulsizer, an RBI-single by Hunt, and a two-run shot to right by Edwards to expand the Montgomery lead to 12-3.

Read's RBI-double in the bottom of the fifth made it 12-4, and then Cespedes' solo homer on the first pitch of the bottom of the sixth made it 12-5. Basabe tallied his fourth hit of the game-an RBI-single in the eighth-to put the Biscuits up 13-5, and then Edwards smoked a two-run single to right to make it 15-5.

The Biscuits will return to Riverwalk Stadium after the All-Star break for a three-game series against the Mississippi Braves for Gump Weekend beginning on Friday, July 22 at 6:35 PM CT when there will be an Adult Greenbow Biscuits Replica Jersey Giveaway presented by Direct Auto Insurance.

The rest of the series will include Fitness Night & MAX Fireworks on Saturday, July 23 at 6:05 PM CT, and a Kids Replica Jersey Giveaway presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama & Bark in the Park on Sunday, July 24 at 3:33 PM CT.
