SHREVEPORT 5, PENSACOLA 1 @ Shreveport, La. Time: 2:39 ATT: 788 W: Eric Wikstrom (3-5) L: Nick Singleton (0-1) S: None HR: None Eric Wikstrom allowed only two hits in six innings and struck out four and C Jason Torres was 3-for-4 as Shreveport took the final game of the three-game set and avoided a sweep at home. Torres doubled twice and scored twice and 1B Hector Lebron had two hits for the Sports. C Jose Salas drove in the lone Pelican run with a groundout in the eighth after SS Carlos Mendoza had singled and DH Nestor Smith doubled him to third. Nick Singleton started the game for Pensacola and lasted an inning and one-third before being lifted after three hits and two runs for Josh Courage. Andy Torres labored for seven innings, giving up 10 hits and six runs, but it was good enough for the win as the Diablo bats backed him up. 2B Jorge Diaz drove in four on two hits, scoring twice and stealing a base and C Alejandro Fernandez and DH Ben Rosenthal had three hits each. Edinburg used five pitchers to try to contain El Paso, but starter Dan Valentin took the loss, giving up four runs in five innings. Fort Worth chased Jackson's Rusty Camp in the second after tagging him for ten runs and ten hits. Every member of the Cat offense hit safely, led by DH John Allen, who was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run. C Jason Radwan also homered and drove in three, while 1B Jordan Foster and 3B Terence Green echoed Allen's three-hit night. C Josh Lindstrom homered for the Senators, who mustered just four hits.
