Eagles and Brahmas Meet in Finals The Bud Poile Governors' Cup Champion Colorado Eagles will host the Texas Brahmas in the Ray Miron President's Cup Finals beginning Wednesday in Colorado. Both teams were the top team in their respective conferences during the regular season so it is only fitting that they play in the post-season. The only regular season meeting between the two teams went to the Brahmas 4-1 in Texas in early February.
Conference Finals Wrap-Ups 1) Brahmas Take Game Seven Versus Odessa in Convincing Fashion 2) Eagles Make Fourth Trip to Finals
1- The Texas Brahmas erupted for eight goals in their 8-1 victory over the Odessa Jackalopes in their Game Seven victory in the Southern Conference Finals on Saturday night. The win matches the largest margin of victory in a Game Seven in league history. Texas scored four times in the second period leading 6-1 after 40 minutes. Tyler Skworchinski scored the team's first three goals and finished the game with a CHL record-tying six points (3-3=6). Matt Quinn scored a pair of goals in the Brahmas victory. TEX/ODE Series Notes: -The home team is now 16-6 all-time in Game Sevens in CHL/WPHL history -Tyler Skworchinski's five game winning goals in the post-season is tied for the CHL record...He joins Laredo's Jeff Bes and the Fort Worth Fire's Stephane Larocque -Brett Jaeger leads all goaltender in the post-season with a 1.85 GAA -Texas' Jason Deitsch leads all skaters in the post-season with five goals and 11 assists for 16 points

2- The Colorado Eagles earned their place in the Ray Miron President's Cup Finals for the fourth time in the last five seasons with their 5-2 victory over the Mississippi RiverKings in Game Six of their Northern Conference Finals series. The Eagles broke open a tied game early in the third period with Brett Hammond's second goal of the post-season and proceeded to score a total of four times in the final frame. Andrew Penner made 30 saves improving to 8-2 in the playoffs. COL/MIS Series Notes: -Ed McGrane's seven goals are tied for second among all post-season players -Colorado defenseman Scott Polaski is tied for the league lead with a +8 plus/minus rating in the post-season -Both Polaski and Jay Birnie were a +6 in the Eagles series versus the RiverKings
