
Shootout goal recieves national attention

PORT HURON, MI - An unbelievable shootout goal by Port Huron Icehawks center Nick Lindberg is receiving national media attention. In Tuesday's shootout loss versus Kalamazoo, Lindberg maneuvered the puck behind his back and tapped it past goalie Joel Martin. It did not take long for the highlight reel clip to find its way to numerous media outlets.
The goal has been featured on numerous websites, including Sports Illustrated, NHL Fanhouse and Yahoo Sports. It also aired on Total Sports Network and has already received over 100,000 views on YouTube.
The clip is slated to air on the popular Fox Sports Network program Best Damn Sports Show Period on Tuesday, April 14 during the "In Case You Missed It" segment. The show regularly airs at 9 p.m., 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
Lindberg is in his sixth professional season. The 28-year old native of Stockholm, Sweden has 79 points (29g, 50a) in 74 games with the Icehawks this season.

The Icehawks have two games remaining in the regular season before they head to the International Hockey League Turner Cup Playoffs. They play at Bloomington on Friday and Flint on Saturday. Currently in second place, the Icehawks are awaiting an opponent for the first round.
