Tulsa Shock News Release
TULSA, Okla. (July 22, 2011) - The Tulsa Shock filled their final roster spot earlier this morning by signing rookie forward Karima Christmas.
A Duke graduate, Christmas averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game in 14 games for the Washington Mystics this season. Christmas was drafted 23rd overall in the second round by the Mystics in the 2011 WNBA Draft.
"Karima is a very physical player and I like that," Interim Head Coach Teresa Edwards said. "She adds more shooting to our team and I feel that she's a rookie that brings something for the future growth of this organization."
Against Tulsa on June 18th at the BOK Center, Christmas scored 11 points on three-of-six shooting while grabbing three rebounds and three steals in just 12 minutes of playing time.
