
Shock Signs Iciss Tillis To Seven-Day Contract

Auburn Hills, MI - Detroit Shock Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has signed former Shock forward/center Iciss Tillis to a seven-day contract. Tillis replaces Amy Sanders, who was waived Monday, on Detroit's roster.
Tillis played her collegiate basketball for the Duke Blue Devils, and the Shock selected her with their first round pick (No. 11 Overall) in the 2004 WNBA Draft. While with the Shock, Tillis played in 31 games finishing second on the team in field-goal percentage (.473) and averaging 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds.
Detroit traded Tillis to the Washington Mystics on April 14, 2005 in exchange for the Mystics' first round draft pick (No. 13 overall) in the 2005 WNBA Draft. Waived by Washington on May 20, 2005, Tillis signed with the New York Liberty as a free agent on February 14, 2006 where she played in 25 games averaging 3.4 and 2.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game
On June 13, 2007, Tillis signed with the Los Angeles Sparks playing in three games before being waived on June 19, 2007.
