
Shock Season Ends at Hands of Defending Arenabowl Champion Rattlers, 41-72

PHOENIX, Arizona - The Shock (7-11, 2-4) went on the road in the first round of the 2015 Arena Football League Playoffs and fell to the three-time defending ArenaBowl Champion Arizona Rattlers (14-4, 5-1) by a final score of 41-72.
Spokane jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter of play after holding Arizona to back-to-back turnovers on downs on their first two possessions. Arizona would respond with their first scoring drive on the night as quarter Nick Davila connected with receive Chase Deadder for a six-yard touchdown pass to close out the quarter with the Shock leading 14-7.
The Rattlers would fire back in the second quarter and post 23 points thanks to three Davila touchdown passes and a safety against the Shock when quarterback Arvell Nelson attempted to throw away a pass in his own end zone, resulting in an intentional grounding penalty. Spokane would have an opportunity to retake the lead with 19 seconds remaining in the half, but an interception by Arizona defensive back Jeremy Kellen would allow the Rattlers to go into the half leading 30-28.
Arizona would extend their lead in the third quarter of play, holding Spokane to a turnover on downs on their opening possession and recording an interception by jack-linebacker Ben Wells. Davila led the Rattlers to three scoring drives with touchdown passes to Deadder and receiver Rod Windsor as Arizona closed out the quarter with a 51-35 lead.
The Shock would find the end zone only once more on the night, while Arizona would continue to get pressure in the Spokane backfield and post three fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the 72-41 victory.
Arizona quarterback Nick Davila completed 26-of-43 pass attempts for 315 yards and eight touchdowns on the night. Chase Deadder led the Arizona receiving effort with nine receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns while Rod Windsor added nine receptions for 112 yards and four scores. Fullback Mykel Benson rushed six times on the night for 23 yards and two touchdowns. Defensive back Jeremy Kellen and jack-linebacker Ben Wells each recorded interceptions.
Spokane quarterback Arvell Nelson completed 18-of-42 pass attempts for 256 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also added two rush attempts for six yards and one score. Jabin Sambrano led the Shock receivers with eight receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown. Nick Truesdell added four receptions for 59 yards and two scores while Braylon Bell and Deveric Gallington each added touchdown receptions.
