Shock Host Breast Health Awareness Night, August 23

Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa Shock will be hosting Breast Health Awareness Night on Friday August 23. The WNBA Breast Health Awareness program focuses on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer and raising funds for the initiative. The WNBA and its teams have raised more than $3.5 million to aid in the fight against breast cancer. WNBA president Laurel Richie will be in attendance.

The Shock will partner with Susan G. Komen, BCAP and Oklahoma Project Woman. There will be Breast Health Awareness shirts available for purchase and those proceeds will be donated to these organizations. Breast health survivors will be recognized during the game and other elements include an educational healthy themed concourse and a silent auction that will include a $300.00 Avon basket and other items donated from other WNBA teams during the game to benefit Susan G. Komen, BCAP and Oklahoma Project Woman..

The Shock will also host a live auction after the game of the player game-worn pink uniforms and shoes. The Shock players will present and autograph the auction items to the winning bidders.
