Shock Come Away with 68-63 Win

For the third week in a row, the results of the Spokane Shock game came down to the final play. For the second week in a row, the Shock came out on top as they defeated the Yard Dawgz, 68-63, in Oklahoma City. Spokane now has the third best record in the league (4-2) and remains undefeated on the road (3-0).
On the final drive of the game, Oklahoma City started on their own 5-yard line, 45 yards away from winning the game. Yard Dawgz QB Tommy Grady's first pass of the drive fell incomplete and left only 5-seconds on the clock. On second down, Grady connected with WR Anthony Hines for a big gain that was nullified thanks to an Oklahoma City penalty, its 15th of the game. With .5 seconds left, Grady and Oklahoma City's offense had just one more chance for the win. Grady's pass sailed out of the endzone as the clock hit zero, and gave the Shock its fourth win of the season.
Shock DL Ben McCombs scored the final touchdown of the afternoon with just over a minute left in the game. After Oklahoma City's defense came up with its second stop of the game, the Yard Dawgz' offense took over deep in their own territory. The Yard Dawgz' offense failed to capitalize on the turnover (on downs) when Grady fumbled the snap and Spokane's DL Ben McCombs recovered the ball in the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.
Spokane's offense continued to ride the hot hand of QB Kyle Rowley who threw for 344 yards with seven touchdowns and only one interception. WR Huey Whittaker led the Shock with a season-high 13 receptions and three touchdowns. Rookie WR Shawn Kauleinamoku made the most of his first start for Spokane scoring two touchdowns of the three receptions he recorded. WR's Markee White and Quorey Payne also chipped in combing for 11 receptions (including a touchdown) while OL Branden Hall recorded an eight-yard touchdown reception.
K Taylor Rowan missed only one of his point after attempts and was perfect on his first two field goal attempts of the season (19, 18 yards).
Grady finished his afternoon with seven touchdowns with 303 passing yards and one interception that was picked off by DB Alex Teems, his second in as many weeks. WR Al Hunt led Oklahoma City's offense attack with five receptions - including three touchdowns - for 110 yards.
