Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that OL Vladimir Richard has been added to the 2011 roster. Additionally, QB RJ Archer has been placed on Other League Exempt. Archer signed a contract with the NFL'S Minnesota Vikings as a member of their practice squad.
Richard, 6-4 310, was most recently a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he signed as an undrafted free agent after he completed his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee in 2009.
After redshirting his freshman year, Richard went on to appear in 36 games for the Volunteers and was also invited to the Texas vs The Nation All-Star Game as a senior.
"At 6-4 310, Vladimir definitely has the size we are looking for and he showed his athleticism at Tennessee," Head Coach Rob Keefe explained. "He has NFL and SEC collegiate experience so we are excited to see how that translates to the AFL."
The defending ArenaBowl Champion XXIII Spokane Shock will begin the 2011 season on the road in San Jose as they take on the SaberCats. On March 19th, the Shock will host the Cleveland Gladiators for their home opener.
