Spokane Shock News Release

July 7, 2009 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Caesar Rayford, a veteran of the CFL and a former University of Washington Husky, has been assigned to the 2009 roster.

Rayford, 6-7 245, was most recently released from the CFL's B.C. Lions where he spent the past two seasons. He signed with the Lions in 2008 as a free agent and spent the 2008 season on the practice roster. Rayford was released late in this year's training camp (June 24th) by the Lions.

At the University of Washington, Rayford played in 35 games over four years as a defensive end. As a Husky, he collected 13 total tackles, 5.5 total sacks, and one forced fumble. In his senior season (2006), Rayford helped the Huskies seal 35-32 Apple Cup win by sacking QB Alex Brink on the Cougars' final offensive possession of the game.

Rayford will be eligible to play Saturday against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. Tickets for the game are still available and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest.
