Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DB William Mulder has been added to their 2010 roster.
Mulder, 6-0 190, spent the last two seasons with the Horseman of the af2. In his rookie season (2008), Mulder led his team in tackles with 57.5 and added three interceptions with 19 pass break-ups. He was also used as a returner on special teams and added 1895 all-purpose yards to his totals.
Last season, was a break-out year for him and was recognized by earning second-team all af2 honors. Mulder was third in the af2 in interceptions (11) and lead the Horseman with 24 pass break-ups. Additionally, Mulder was third on the team in tackles with 65.5. On special teams, Mulder totaled 1770 all-purpose yards including 1,552 on kick-off returns.
"William Mulder has achieved success at every level of football he has been a part of - collegiately and professionally," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "He has proved himself as a defensive back and as a kick returner and he is ready to take his game to the next level. "
Prior to his professional career, Mulder played collegiately at Campbellsville University and collected a school record 16 interceptions during his career.
Mulder, a Kentucky-native, feels comfortable continuing his professional career in Spokane because of their winning reputation.
"The Shock have always been winners," Mulder said. "Every player wants to be around a group of guys that just want to win; and that's what I want. I just want to come in and compete and win another championship."
