Spokane Shock News Release
November 4, 2008 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DE Louis Holmes has been added to their 2009 roster.
Holmes, 6'4" 260, spent part of this season with the San Francisco 49ers until being released from the practice squad during week two of the NFL season.
Prior to his professional career, Holmes played two years at the University of Arizona where he was named 2nd Team All Pac-10. In two seasons with the Wildcats, Holmes accumulated 73 tackles with six sacks.
Holmes signed with Arizona after being named the number one Junior College recruit in the country by several publications. He was also recognized as an NCJAA All-American and accumulated 192 tackles with 16 sacks at Scottsdale Community College.
"The importance of putting pressure on your opponents quarterback is immeasurable," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "We feel like we have found a guy who can do that play after play for us. We are very fortunate to have him on our team because he is one of those guys who you hate to play against."
