Published on March 5, 2003 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 6, 2003) - The North Charleston Lowgators of the National Basketball Development League have re-acquired guard Ty Shine, according to an announcement today by NBDL Executive Director Karl Hicks and North Charleston Head Coach Doug Marty. Shine fills the roster spot vacated when Tierre Brown signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.
This will be Shine's second tour of duty with the Lowgators this season. He was signed on Jan. 17 when guard Larry Reid left the team for personal reasons and was released on Jan. 29 when the Lowgators acquired guard Courtney Eldridge.
He played in six games with the Lowgators in January, starting none while averaging 12.8 minutes, 4.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
At 6-foot-1 and 183 pounds, Shine played his college basketball at Seton Hall ('02). He will join the team today and be in uniform when North Charleston (23-20) visits the Columbus Riverdragons (19-23) Friday at the Columbus (Ga.) Civic Center.
