
Sherrod Evers Joins Reading Express Receiving Corps

Reading, Pa. (September 20, 2011) - The Reading Express continue building the receiving corps for the 2012 season with the signing of Sherrod Evers. Evers is the second new receiver announced by the Express this week.
Evers, at 6'2" and 195 pounds, is a tall speedster who can attack defenders with both his size and speed. He is a tremendous route runner with the ability to put defensive backs on their heels.
"Sherrod has the unique ability to turn around defenders with his route running abilities", said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "He gets in and out of his breaks unbelievably fast; he is a hidden talent for sure."
Evers comes to the Express from Robert Morris University near Pittsburgh where he was a four-year starter.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
