Shawn Liotta Inducted into AAA Minor League Football Hall of Fame

Erie Explosion Head Coach, Shawn Liotta has been accepted for induction into the AAA Minor League Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013. Liotta was recognized for his success as a Head Coach at the professional indoor level over the past seven seasons culminating with an undefeated (12-0) season and CIFL League Championship in 2013. Liotta holds a 74% win percentage during his tenure in Erie and has led his teams to the playoffs in 6 out of his 7 seasons as a Head Coach. Twice named league Coach of the Year, his teams have established 24 league or national records, and several of his former players have advanced to opportunities in the AFL, CFL, and NFL.

The Minor League Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held January 10th 2014 in Palm Springs, California at the Desert Princess Country Club. Guest speakers at the induction ceremony include June Jones, Head Coach at SMU, and legendary coach Darrel "Mouse" Davis. Davis is the pioneer and innovator of the modern day run and shoot offense and spent over 40 years coaching at the high school, college, and professional level.

The Minor League Football Hall of Fame was organized in 2004 to recognize players, coaches, executives, and trainers who have contributed to the success of minor league football. Minor League Football Hall of Fame Founder and Commissioner Dick Suess, is credited as a professional indoor football pioneer who established the original Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) which began play in 1998.
