
Shawinigan Remains Ahead In Attendance Hikes

BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, December 4, 2009 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today revealed its latest attendance report and the statistics show that five teams have rising attendance figures. The most substantial attendance jumps (per game) have occurred in Shawinigan (+ 809), Quebec City (+ 216), Victoriaville (+ 178) and Drummondville (+ 176) while Val-d'Or (+ 16) has noticed a modest hike. Overall attendance is down slightly from last season (-3.9%).
Of note, for the first time in franchise history, the Cataractes could surpass the 100,000 fans threshold while the Voltigeurs appear ready to break last year's attendance mark by several thousand spectators. Drummondville is on pace to draw just over 95,000 fans.
