SharX Host #1 Milwaukee Sunday Afternoon

February 17, 2012 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Norfolk SharX News Release

Norfolk, Virginia - On the heels of what was arguably the team's best game of the season on February 14, the Norfolk SharX will host the MISL's best on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Norfolk Scope Arena. The Milwaukee Wave stands at 16-3 as of this writing but will face Baltimore on Saturday night before traveling to Norfolk for Sunday's mid-afternoon match.

The SharX at 4-17 are definitely the new kids on the block when writing about Major Indoor Soccer and the Milwaukee Wave. The Wave debuted in 1984, has played for 27 seasons, has over 500 wins, has played more than 1,000 games and is the defending MISL Champions. The SharX are in their first season, have four wins and have played 21 games. But the SharX history is just beginning.

Last Tuesday night's match was a good beginning. Norfolk is coming off a dramatic and decisive 21-17 win over the Syracuse Silver Knights on Valentine's Day, a game in which the SharX came from behind time and time again before finally putting the game away. Matt Clare and Brian Massie scored hat tricks for the SharX and Gerson Dos Santos, Miguel Ferrer and James Gunderson each added three points. Matt Clare and Miguel Ferrer lead the SharX in scoring and are tied for twentieth in the MISL with 39 points each. It was the second win for the SharX over Syracuse this season.

The SharX and Wave met in the second game of the season back on November 19 in Milwaukee - the home side won 21-7. The Wave is coming off a 17-14 loss to Missouri on February 12. Milwaukee is led by Greg Howes in scoring with 56 points followed by Ian Bennett with 47. Howes and Bennett are ranked sixth and twelfth in the MISL.

Tickets to all three remaining home games are buy-one-get-one free using code BITE1 at either the Scope Box Office or online through www.norfolksharx.com . The SharX will finish out the regular season at home beginning with Milwaukee and followed by Baltimore on February 26 and Wichita on March 4.

Season tickets for the 2012-13 are available now by emailing info@norfolksharx.com. Existing season ticket holders will get a 20% discount and new season ticket holders will get next year's tickets at this year's prices and free tickets for the SharX final home games.

This Sunday will include an electrifying half time performance by Dragon Force National Championship Karate Team. Bring your drums, noisemakers and friends!
