Sharks To Host City Wide Competitions

The Corpus Christi Sharks announced today that the team will be hosting regional competitions in four different high school events later this fall. Those events include Cheer, Dance, Choir and Marching Band competitions. The Sharks goal is to create an annual citywide competition that will spotlight the talent in South Texas. This event will allow schools the opportunity to compete in friendly head-to-head competition.

The winning organization in each category will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to perform in the American Bank Center Arena at the Sharks first home game of the 2008 season. The top five in each category will be recognized with the 2nd thru 5th place finishers performing at subsequent Sharks home games. Participation Awards will be given to every school entered in the competition.

"Our organization is excited to be teaming up with high schools in South Texas to create opportunities and memories that will last a lifetime." said Sharks Vice President, Larry Linde. He added, "Community involvement is a focus of our organization. These events will create healthy competition and allow us to highlight all the wonderful talent located in the Coastal Bend."

The first event will be the Cheer and Dance Competitions. These competitions will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Mary Jane's Gymnastic Training Center located at 5102 Jean Street, Corpus Christi, 78411.
