SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed the following four prospects to contracts: Defenseman Tim Conboy, defenseman Scott Ford, forward Aaron Gill and forward Shane Joseph. Conboy, Gill, and Joseph all finished the 2003-04 season on the Barons active roster.

In keeping with club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Conboy, 22, was originally selected by San Jose in seventh round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (217th overall). Finishing the 2003-04 season on the Barons playoff roster, he appeared in four Calder Cup Playoff games totaling 3 assists and 4 penalty minutes. Prior to his time with the Barons, the six-foot-one, 210 pound native of Farmington, Minnesota posted ten points (five goals, five assists) and 82 penalty minutes in 33 games with St. Cloud State (WCHA).

Gill, 24, played in the Barons final six regular season games last season scoring one goal and competed in three Calder Cup Playoff games. The six-foot, 181 pound native of Rochester, Minnesota finished second in scoring at Notre Dame (CCHA) with 38 points (17 goals and 21 assists) in 39 games. His 21 assists were tied for the team lead. In League games, Gill was seventh in scoring among all CCHA players with 27 points (ten goals, 17 assists) in 28 games. Gill's performance was worthy of a spot on the CCHA's Second Team All-Star squad.

Joseph, 22, was a late spark for the Barons in 2003-04. Playing in 12 regular season games, the Barons posted a 7-3-2-0 record with Joseph in the lineup. During that span, he totaled nine points on four goals and five assists, while posting a +5 plus/minus rating. More impressive, Joseph led the team in scoring during the Calder Cup Playoffs with nine points (five goals and four assists) in nine post-season games.

Prior to his time with the Barons, Joseph led Minnesota State (WCHA) with 43 points (19 goals and 24 assists) in 39 games, good for seventh among all WCHA scorers and 17th among all NCAA scorers. His goal and assist totals led the team. In 2002-03, his junior season, the five-foot-nine, 170 pound native of Brooks, Alberta registered 65 points (29 goals and 36 assists) in 41 games, which placed him fourth in scoring among all NCAA Division I players. Joseph was named to the JOFA Second Team All-American squad in leading MSU to their first NCAA Frozen Four Tournament appearance.

Ford, 24, recently completed his senior season at Brown University (ECAC), where he tied for fifth on the team in scoring with 15 points (six goals and nine assists) in 31 games, en route to helping lead Brown to the Ivy League Championship. The six-foot-three, 225-pound native of Charlie Lake, British Columbia was named as the 2004 ECAC Best Defensive Defenseman, 2004 First Team All-Ivy, honorable mention All-ECAC and 2004 ECAC All-Academic Squad. The 2004-05 season will mark his professional debut.

The Barons are set to open the 2004-05 home schedule on Saturday, October 16th at Gund Arena at 7pm. Group tickets are available by calling the Barons Front Office at 216.420.0000. For Full Season and Partial Plan ticket information, Crash The Net at www.clevelandbarons.net.
