Shamrox sign Wasson-McQuigge and Panos

CHICAGO, IL October 26, 2006 - The Chicago Shamrox signed their number one draft pick Josh Wasson-McQuigge and NLL veteran Chris Panos to one-year deals, in preparation for their upcoming season of indoor professional lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) starting in January at the Sears Centre arena.

The Shamrox selected NLL rookie Josh Wasson-McQuigge from the University of Hartford in the first round of the NLL Entry Draft. Wasson-McQuigge led the Hawks with 41 points last season, including a team-high 33 goals. During summer league play for the Peterborough Lakers in 2006, Wasson-McQuigge tallied 38 points, on 18 goals and 20 assists. In his last game of the Ontario Championship for Peterborough, he scored an impressive 5 goals to help clinch a berth into the 2006 Mann Cup Canadian Championship.

Chris Panos, 6'0", 210 lbs. is the most veteran player on the Chicago Shamrox roster, with nine years of NLL experience. Panos scored 162 goals and 151 assists for 313 career points in 102 games, and joins the Shamrox after sitting out 2006 with injuries. He was a star player on the 2001 Philadelphia Wings NLL Championship team.
