Chicago Shamrox News Release
CHICAGO, IL November 10, 2006 - The Chicago Shamrox kick-off their Inaugural Season of indoor pro lacrosse by holding their first Training Camp this weekend at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations Ontario. The Shamrox are set to hold Training Camps over four weekends in November and December, with a scrimmage versus Rochester on December 17 and an exhibition game on December 30, all leading up to their expansion team showdown home opener versus the New York Titans on Saturday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sears Centre arena.
The Shamrox have signed expansion draft, entry draft and free agent players to their roster in the last few weeks and will evaluate the following 40 players during training sessions. The Shamrox will return to Chicago to face-off in a "Black and Green Scrimmage" before eager fans for the first time on Sunday, December 3 at the Sears Centre arena.
"As an expansion team, every player is fighting for a spot, and we have to scale our roster back to 23 players by December 14," said Shamrox GM/Head Coach Jamie Batley. "We like the way our initial roster looks on paper and are excited to see who the top performers are on the field."
