
Knighthawks re-sign Dutton and Penny

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has re-signed defensemen Pat Dutton and Steve Penny to one-year deals. Dutton will be available for comment after the first intermission of tonight's Rochester-Binghamton American Hockey League game at The Blue Cross Arena. Faceoff is set for 7:35 p.m.
Dutton returns for his third season with the Knighthawks. In 2006, the Webster native played in 10 games and set career highs with four goals and seven assists for 11 points. In two seasons, he has appeared in 16 games and notched six goals, 10 assists and 73 loose balls. He has also spent four seasons with the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse (2003-06).
Penny enters his fifth season with the Knighthawks and sixth in the NLL. Last season, he played in eight games and recorded one assist and 24 penalty minutes. He has played in 57 professional games and collected 10 goals and 19 assists. He was the Knighthawks' first-round selection (10th overall) in the 2002 NLL Dispersal Draft.
The Knighthawks will open their NLL Training Camp on Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th at All Star Sports Arena in Irondequoit, NY. The first day of camp will run from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the facility at 557 East Ridge Road. The Knighthawks will then hold a 10:00 a.m. to noon practice on Sunday. The practices are free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workouts.
The Knighthawks will open their 13th season of professional lacrosse on Saturday, December 30th against the defending National Lacrosse League champion Colorado Mammoth. Gametime is set for 9:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Center. Rochester plays its home opener on Saturday, January 13th against the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
