KOKOMO, IND. - Indiana University - Southeast's and Kokomo native Logan Barnes saw a personal four-game hitting streak continue in a big way Friday, June 10.

Barnes greeted Springfield Sliders' relief pitcher Jacob Thiessen with a double in the home half of the seventh, plating Wayne State University's Griffin Harms and Kean University's Chris Amato, tying the Prospect League clash up at 5-5 after the visitors had overturned a 3-1 deficit with four of their own in the top of the frame. Two batters later, Barnes' collegiate teammate Clay Benefield kept his strong 2016 season start going with a single that sent Barnes home with the eventual winning run in a 6-5 Jackrabbits' victory.

After seeing his team rally for a fifth successive win in front of a large crowd of nearly 1,700 at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, field manager Matt Howard continued to look forward.

"I mean it's awesome," he said of the recent Gold and Brown roll. "That's what you set out to do ... winning every ball game. The guys are having a lot of fun, and I don't see us losing any time soon the way we're playing and competing every night."

While the recent wares of the offense have helped move Kokomo into second on the PL's East Division standings, just a game and a half behind the Butler Blue Sox, the bullpen continued to step up. After Ball State University's Nick Floyd went a solid six innings with three strikeouts, the duo of Butler University's Sam Hubbe and Indiana University - South Bend's Trey Bickel slammed the door shut, combining for three innings of one-hit ball with three strikeouts.

The Jackrabbits (8-6) conclude their current three-game home stand Saturday, June 11. The DuPage Drones come to town for a 7:05 p.m. start, as the Princesses and Superheroes promotion continues with a tea party and pre-game parade as well as a first pitch and autograph session by Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers.
