Seventh Inning Rally Gives Braves Win

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 3-2 Wednesday afternoon before 2,099 fans at State Mutual Stadium. The win gives Rome the series win and improves their record to 4-3.

The Grasshoppers took an early lead in the first when Cameron Flynn singled to center, scoring Juancito Martinez and making the score 1-0. Rome's Aris Alcantara tied it up in the fourth with a single to center scoring Josh Elander.

Greensboro took the lead back in the sixth inning thanks to a shallow single to left field by Alfredo Lopez, allowing Cody Keefer to cross the plate making the score 2-1. The Braves took the lead in the seventh inning when pitcher Miguel Fermin walked Tony Mueller allowing Carlos Franco to score the tying run. Jose Peraza then singled to left field, allowing Nick DeSantiago to score the go ahead run 3-2. Rome's bullpen held the lead the rest of the way giving the Braves the win.

Rome's reliever Bryam Garcia (1-0) was awarded his first win of the season, while Greensboro's Helpi Reyes received the loss (0-1).
