
Seven in Sixth Sinks Sox, Dust Devils Win 7-1

EUGENE, OR - The Tri-City Dust Devils (7-10) scored all seven of their runs in the sixth inning, defeating the Everett AquaSox (9-8), 7-1.
Cole Barr scored the AquaSox only run in the top of the sixth inning, coming home from third base when Noelvi Marte grounded into a double play to give the Sox a short lived 1-0 lead.
Tri-City blew the game wide open in the sixth inning. The first seven batters of the inning reached base by way of six singles and a hit batter before the first out was recorded. The Dust Devils added two more singles in the inning on the way to a seven-run, 12 batter inning.
Meanwhile the Dust Devils pitchers did their part to contain the AquaSox bats. Tri-City starting pitcher Landon Marceaux went seven strong innings, allowing five hits, one earned run, no walks and four strikeouts. Relief pitcher Houston Harding came in and struck out the side in the eighth inning. Brandon Dufault pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing zero hits, one walk and struck out two batters.
All ten Dust Devils hits were singles and Tri-City hitters were six-for-nine with runners in scoring position. AquaSox starting pitcher Logan Rinehart went four scoreless innings, allowing only one hit with no walks and five strikeouts. Rinehart lowered his ERA to 0.93 over 9.2 innings pitched in three AquaSox starts. Luis Curvelo and Evan Johnson each pitched a hitless and scoreless inning for the AquaSox: Curvelo walked one batter and struck out two, Johnson struck out all three batters that he faced.
Game three of the six game series is scheduled for Thursday July 14. RHP Jimmy Joyce (3-8, 6.20 ERA) will start for the AquaSox while RHP Robinson Pina (6-3, 2.53 ERA) will start for the Dust Devils. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with the pregame show beginning at 6:45 p.m. Tune in to 1380 AM/95.3 FM KRKO for all of the action.
