Series Tied Up, 1-1: Game 3 Is Saturday

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Patrick Kinkopf scored 93 seconds intoovertime Friday to give the Alaska Avalanche a 2-1 victory over the WenatcheeWild at the Town Toyota Center. The win evened the West Division semifinalseries between the teams with Game 3 set for Saturday.

Chris Kerr (Penticton,British Columbia) lit the first lamp 7:17 into the second stanza on aman-advantage when he knocked in a rebound off of Jerad Tafoya's (Highland Ranch, Colo.) shot from the left wing. Max McHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) picked upthe second assist.

The Wild maintained their 1-0 lead for more than 28 minutesuntil the Avs evened the score with 4:16 remaining in regulation. Jeff Berghscored the marker on a turnaround shot from the low slot. Connor Wrightassisted.

Alaska had momentum after the equalizer and went on to scorethe game-winner 93 seconds into overtime when Brandon Brossoit set up Kinkopfin front of the net.

In spite of the loss, GregLewis (Mars, Pa.) was strong in net. He turned aside 30 of the 32 shots hefaced, including 13-of-14 in the third period. Bodhi Engum made 16 saves on 17shots to earn the win after Nick Kulmanovsky allowed three goals on 18 shots inthe first game of the series Thursday.

Wenatchee went 1-for-3 on its power play chances whileAlaska went 0-for-3.
