
Sens Sign Former MSU Pitcher Jacob Blakeney

Jackson, MS; July 16, 2005 - The Jackson Senators of the Central Baseball League (CBL) announced today they have signed right-handed pitcher Jacob Blakeney to their roster. Blakeney will be in uniform tonight when the Sens host the Shreveport Sports.
Blakeney, a Mendenhall, MS native and former Mississippi State University star, was originally a 22nd round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves in 2003. His professional career numbers include a 6-4 record with 18 saves and a 3.11 ERA in 87 appearances.
To make room on the roster, the Senators have released pitcher Jermaine Shack.
The Jackson Senators are part of the Central Baseball League, an independent league of eight professional baseball teams located throughout four southern states. The league is preparing for its twelfth season this summer with teams located in Edinburg, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Robstown, and San Angelo, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; and Jackson, Mississippi. The CBL will play a 94-game schedule between May and August 2005.
