
Senators to hold local tryout

Jackson, MS; April 20, 2005 â The Jackson Senators of the Central Baseball League (CBL) announced they will be holding a local tryout camp for available roster positions for the 2005 season. The camp will be held on Sunday, April 24th at Smith-Wills Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m. with registration at 2:00 p.m. Sens Field Manager Hill Denson and his coaching staff will be running the camp.
A registration fee of $20.00 will be collected at the time of registration. The camp is open to the public and each participant has the opportunity to receive an invitation to Spring Training. Each registrant will receive a T-shirt for participation. If you have any questions, please contact the Senators office at (601) 362-2294.
The Jackson Senators are part of the Central Baseball League, an independent league of eight professional baseball teams located throughout four southern states. The league is preparing for its twelfth season this summer with teams located in Edinburg, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Robstown, and San Angelo, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; and Jackson, Mississippi. The CBL will play a 94-game schedule between May and August 2005.
