Jackson Senators News Release

Jackson, MS; May 19, 2005 – The Jackson Senators of the Central Baseball League (CBL) announced today they have signed right-handed pitcher Bo Edmiston to their roster. Edmiston will be in uniform when the Senators return to action Friday night at Smith-Wills Stadium against the El Paso Diablos.

Edmiston, a Columbus, MS native, was originally a 15th round selection of the Houston Astros in the 2003 draft after a stellar collegiate career at Mississippi College. Last season with Tri City, the Astros Class "A" club in the New York-Penn League, he went 3-1 with a 3.74 ERA in 20 games, striking out 43 in 45.2 innings while allowing only 10 walks.

To make room on the roster, the Senators released pitcher Kris White.

The Jackson Senators are part of the Central Baseball League, an independent league of eight professional baseball teams located throughout four southern states. The league is preparing for its twelfth season this summer with teams located in Edinburg, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Robstown, and San Angelo, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; and Jackson, Mississippi. The CBL will play a 94-game schedule between May and August 2005.
