May 10, 2012 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators started their seven-game road trip with a 7-0 shut out loss to the Akron Aeros Thursday night. It was the third time in their past ten games that they've shut out.
Akron's first four hitters reached in the bottom of the first and they all scored. Akron tacked on single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to cruise to the win.
Jeff Mandel started and lasted three innigs in the game. He gave up five earned runs and fell to 3-2 on the season. Ryan Tatusko pitched three innings and Erik Davis pitched the final two innings.
Jeff Kobernus and Destin Hood both had two hits in the loss and Chris Rahl had a double in the ballgame. The Sens had two on and one out in the first, two on and two out in the sixth, and then loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but failed to score in any of those situations.
Game two of the four-game series is Friday night at 7:05 p.m. with LH Danny Rosenbaum on the mound. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on mobile devices through iHeart Radio beginning at 6:45 p.m.
