Jackson, MS; July 7, 2003 â The Jackson Senators came from behind to the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Ducks 5-4. The Mt. Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 in the first inning, as the Senators did not score until the third when they tied the game at 3-3. Jackson finally took the lead in the sixth win a run, and then added one more run in the seventh. Mark Persails (7-3) got the win, going seven innings, giving up three runs on three hits, while striking out six. Brandon Parker came in and picked up his league leading 12th save of the season as he pitched a scoreless ninth inning. Ross Cowling (4-2) took the loss for the Ducks, after allowing four runs on six hits in six innings of work. With the win the Senators improved to 5-2 on the second half, while also improving to 36-19 on the season. The Ducks fell to 25-30 on the year and 2-5 during 2nd half play.
Next home game: Will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, as it will be "Two-for-Tuesday," with $1.00 drink specials during the game on draft beer & soft drinks. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
