Jackson, MS; July 8, 2003 â The Jackson Senators earned a sweep of the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Ducks Tuesday night with a 7-0 win. Kenny Rayborn (8-1) went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out 10 in picking up his 8th win of the season. Gary Hall, JR took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits, in four innings of work. Vernon Spearman kept it going offensively, as he went 3-4, driving in two runs and scoring two runs on the night. The Senator with the win have ran their current winning streak to five in a row. On the season Jackson sits at 37-19, while during second half play are 6-2. The Mt. Ducks after dropping this game fall to 2-6 on the second half and 25-31 overall on the season.
Next home game: Will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, as it will be "Wet Your Whistle Wednesday," with $.50 drink specials on draft beer and soft drinks. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
