Jackson Senators News Release
Jackson, MS; June 11, 2004 â The Jackson Senators came from behind in dramatic fashion in the 8th inning of tonight's ballgame, defeating the Fort Worth Cats 6-3. The Senators, who were down to their final 6 outs and trailing 3-1, got things turned around in the 8th. The Sens sent 10 men to the plate in the 8th inning and scored 5 times. The Fort Worth defense was the main cause of the 5 run output, when they committed 4 infield errors with 3 of them coming in a row. Tommy Bost, Selwyn Langaigne, and Tyson Boston all recorded RBI's in the 8th inning. The Cats disastrous 8th inning blew a 3-1 lead that was established on a 2 run homerun by Jeremy Smith in the 3rd inning. Fort Worth starter Allen Davis looked good in the 6 he pitched, but when the game was turned over to the pen, that's when the Cats ran into trouble. Rusty Camp worked 8 full innings for the Sens and picked up his 4th win of the year while striking out 5. Jackson hopes to match tonight's big win with one tomorrow as the Sens throw Ryan Snider against Brandon Wood.
Next home game: Saturday, June 12th vs. Fort Worth Cats â Negro League Tribute Night
